One of the city's specialties is tanbaguro kuromame, a variety of larger than average black beans that are very tasty. Opened in 1734, the Odagaki Company offers many products derived from them, such as boiled and slightly sweetened ni mame, fermented mame shiboris, black bean tea, roasted black beans, plain or surrounded by white or matcha chocolate. So don't hesitate to go and have a look in the shop, installed in a very beautiful building of almost 250 years old, listed as a national heritage site.
