Izushi Castle was built in 1604 by the feudal lord Koide. However, there is almost nothing left of it, as it was destroyed during the Meiji era. The tower that can be seen is a reconstruction dating from 1968. In spring, the sakura flowers around the castle ruins are beautiful. To reach the castle, you can take a path overhung by 37 red torii and consisting of 157 stone steps, leading to the Inari-jinja shrine.
