This popular Sakai institution has been serving soba, the Japanese buckwheat noodle, since 1695. The place is unique and the atmosphere very exotic. It's one of the city's must-visit addresses. You can enjoy your soba sitting on the tatami, surrounded by local customers. The most popular dish is "Seiro Soba", or steamed soba. The taste and texture make for a fine culinary experience. The building has recently been renovated, which somewhat detracts from the charm of the original, striking structure.
