SOUTH PASS CITY HISTORIC SITE
The historic village brings together 17 historic buildings that have been restored and open to the public during the summer, for a unique experience to relive the early migrants of the first half of the nineteenth century and life at the time of the gold rush. You can see, among other things, the old ferronnerie, the historic Smith-Sherlock grocery store in which you can make some shopping. Don't miss the Interpretation Center where you can learn more about the gold rush and gold mining techniques practiced in South Pass City and around the corner. The Volksmarch trail, about 5 km long, offers a pleasant walk where watching deer, mulets, antelopes (more rarely) and beaver. Hawks and eagles can also be seen there. The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail Trail across the country, connecting Mexico to Canada, also passes through the city and attracts numerous cyclists and hikers.
