THE LEWIS AND CLARK INTERPRETIVE CENTER
This center is an opportunity to relive the journey of more than 12,000 kilometers from the Lewis and Clark expedition across the wild American west between 1804 and 1806. Built at the top of a cliff offering spectacular views of the Missouri River, the interpretation center is as scenic as informative and playful. Programming attempts to highlight the uniqueness of this non-standard exploration. The immersion is complete, it is immersed in the days when the Amerindians were freely inhabiting the Great Plains, we learn to detail the plants and animals of the region and we feel the distress of the members of the expedition in the face of the various obstacles of such an adventure.
The visit starts with two videos and then continues through exhibitions. It is also possible to join a store for a conference (depending on the program). You can also choose a 30-minute audio tour, available in several languages including French. The most popular attraction is the recovery of the titanic enterprise of men pulling a huge boat out of what represents the banks of Missouri. You will then be able to test your strength by pulling a boat yourself against the Missouri River. You doubt it, it's hard! Finally, the center also offers, in summer, a junior exploration program and a treasure hunt: more information at the reception.Giant Springs Historic State Park. At the end of the visit, take the trail leading to the nearby Giant Springs Park, a historic site discovered during shipping.
