BLITHEWOLD MANSION
Mansion with gardens and arboretum offering guided tours between April and October every Wednesday and Saturday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Blithewold's thirteen hectares are home to a mansion, extensive gardens and an arboretum. It was designed in the 1890s by a wealthy couple who spent their summers here. The house gives a good insight into life on the Rhode Island coast in the 19th century. The gardens and arboretum showcase nearly 300 plant species from North America, Europe and Asia. Unlike the Mansion, they are open year-round. Guided tours of the estate are organized between April and October every Wednesday and Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
