BUCKMAN TAVERN
Tavern transformed into a museum, reconstituted to look like it did at the beginning of the Revolutionary War.
This historic tavern was a favourite gathering place for men, especially militiamen, from Lexington in the 18th century. On the morning of April 19, 1775, it was in this tavern that the Lexington militiamen gathered while awaiting the arrival of British troops. Today transformed into a museum, it has been reconstituted to regain the appearance it had at the beginning of the War of Independence. You will have the opportunity to admire its bar, its few wooden tables, its large fireplace and a portrait of John Buckman, its owner in 1775.
