Remarkable chapels, built by Georg Paprion, in San Candido.
The Altötting and Holy Sepulchre chapels back onto each other. They were built by the host of San Candido, Georg Paprion. The round chapel, which replicates the Bavarian Altötting sanctuary, dates back to 1633, and features an atrium (known as the Chapel of Suffering), while he built the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre in 1653 after a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, using the church of the same name as a model. Note its octagonal rotunda shape with dome.
