Starting point of a hike forming an ideal loop for a walk
Gignese is a nice stopover. We advise you to stroll around the village. Worth seeing, especially the Chiesa di San Rocco di Gignese church, dating back to the 16th century, made of local stone with a ceiling decorated with frescoes. A little further on is the umbrella and parasol museum, the only one of its kind in the world! There's even a beginner's tour with "pioneers'", the first umbrellas. And for the sporty ones, it is the starting point of a nice hike that makes a loop to reach Monte Zughero via Monttarone. Count about 6.80 km and 2.5 hours of walking.
