WORLDS SMALLEST BOOKSTORE
If you drive around Ontario, you may cross paths with this unlikely bookstore. To do so, you will have to take highway 503 to the small town of Kinmount, just north of Fenelon Falls. There, huge signs invite motorists to stop and discover the world's smallest bookstore! Indeed, we want to believe the owner that this small wooden cottage, barely 4 meters long, is unique in its kind. With its shelves full of books, from Alice Munro to Mark Twain, from Margaret Atwood to Kafka, all the classics are there. Open 24 hours a day, the bookstore lets customers serve themselves and then record their purchase (each book costs $3 CAN) on the booklet provided for this purpose. Glued from the walls to the ceiling, the visitors' enthusiastic thank you notes are also fun to read.
