MUSEO E PARCO ARCHEOLOGICO ARCHEODERI
Archaeological area to see the remains of a synagogue built in the century, and a paving stone decorated with Hebrew symbols.
Located in the municipality of Bova Marina, this archaeological area, excavated in the 1980s, preserves the remains of a synagogue built in the 4th century and used until its destruction in the 6th century. It is the second oldest synagogue in Western Europe after that of Ostia. The rich polychrome mosaic pavement of the prayer room, decorated with Hebrew symbols such as the menorah and the chophar, has been reconstructed in the small annexed museum.
