The location of the pleasant cottages, the restaurant and the playground of the Acaki ("beginning" or "genesis" in acholi) is not very glamorous: a former public rubbish dump... But don't be put off, the rubbish has given way to soft grass and the lodge is by far the best in the Kitgum district! Ideally located, 3 miles from the town centre, on the road to Gulu and 500 m. from the track leading to Kidepo Park, Acaki also makes a point of organising visits to the Northern Region's little-known natural and historical sites.
