Go there and contact
An Anglican cleric, consecrated bishop of the diocese of Gulu (1969) and then enthroned as Archbishop of Uganda (1974), Janani Luwum was assassinated by the henchmen of Idi Amin Dada after he criticized the regime's exactions (1977). Every year, a host of pilgrims make their way to his grave near St. Paul's Church in Mucwini, his native village. The memorial of the man who was raised to the rank of martyr by the Anglican Communion (a statue in his effigy adorns the western entrance to Westminster Abbey) is located 22 km north-east of Kitgum (asphalt road).
