SANDY BEACHES
Faced with the Hawar, which form an archipelago of 36 small desert islands belonging to Bahrain, the Qatari coast runs its sandy anits and surprising remains of calcareous and glowing formations. The place is ideal for a one-day getaway in a very crude natural setting, a peaceful savagery: We spend his time in the water with a hat on his head. Ras Abrouq is a popular camping spot for the premises, which come up their caravans here all the winters. Close to the oryx and ostrich reserve, it is only accessible in 4 x 4. It is not uncommon to find flaming flames in season.
Unlike excursions in the inland sea sector, no dunes to cross, no risk to lose even if the far north of the peninsula is particularly isolated. The marine environment is a vast expanse of shallow water (most of the site is less than 6 m deep with an average of 2 m and a maximum of 20 m, which also represents the maximum depth to which cormorants fish). This shallow depth, combined with arid climate, makes salinity very high: up to 52 units per thousand in free waters and, more importantly, in closed lagoons or chunks. Due to the tide and prevailing winds, there are long sand languages south of some islands, as well as canals with overflows and caves in marine grass.
