AUDITORI CONVENT DE SANT FRANCESC
The convent of Sant Francesc was built between 1721 and 1729, although its church was not inaugurated until 1732. Looted during the 19th century, then abandoned, it was demolished in the 2000s, but the church, which had maintained its cult until 1936, was preserved. In 2003, David Closes, an architect from Manresa, was commissioned to transform the building into an auditorium, preserving the heritage of the historical elements while adding an astonishing contemporary glass construction to the monument. The auditorium is now renowned for its remarkable acoustics and hosts concerts, operas and conferences, while exposing the remains of the former convent on the first floor.
