MONTSERRAT COVES
Amazing system of underground galleries and caves with an audiovisual projection on their history
If more than a hundred caves pierce the Montserrat massif, it is in Collbató that we will visit the largest of these caves (530 metres). The coves del Salnitre are the result of millions of years of karstification processes: rainwater infiltrated into the cracks of the limestone conglomerate dissolved the rock and formed an amazing system of underground galleries and caves that nature has decorated with multiple concretions. The visit of the caves begins with an audiovisual projection telling their story. Then you enter the galleries decorated with stalactites and stalagmites, passing by the impressive "then the devil", the "Gaudí's room" or the "Virgin's room".
