Situated on the top of a hill, the Gothic castle of Castellar was built in the 10th century as part of the vast fortification line during the Reconquesta. Once the lands had been reclaimed, it was in the spiritual field that reunification took place: churches were built in all the surrounding villages, consolidating the link between the three elements of the feudal world: the seigneury, the Church and the peasantry. This monumental complex has survived through the ages, and today, in addition to the remains of the castle, it features the parish church of Sant Miquel de Castellar, its presbytery and a mill. Guided tours every second Sunday of the month.
