VIL.LA ROMANA DE SAN AMANÇ DE VILADÉS
It is an archaeological complex consisting of a villa from the Roman period, the remains of a medieval colony and remains from the Iberian period. The entire site is located on the southern slope of a hill, crossed by the C-25 road on the Rajadell-Calaf section, dividing the whole into two parts: the north and the south. The Roman villa of Rajadell derives its importance from the presence of a via romana (ancient Roman track) linking the territories of present-day Manresa to Calaf and Prats de Rei (Sigarra for the Romans). The northern sector was a residential area, whose elongated structure once housed the noble rooms (one of them had a wall covered with polychrome mosaics, now kept in the Manresa Museum) and all the thermal baths, while the flatter southern sector was used for agricultural work. To visit the site, accessible on foot or by bike after a nice walk, go to the tourist office.
