OBSERVATORI ASTRONOMIC CASTELLTALLAT
The Castelltallat Astronomical Observatory is the only observatory in Central Catalonia. Located at an altitude of 1,000 metres in the heart of the Serra de Castelltallat, a major natural area of the Geopark, it is far from any urban core, and there is almost no light contamination, making it a privileged place to observe the sky. It was built inside the ruins of an old castle. The adjoining church dedicated to Sant Miquel has a secret stone passage leading to the observatory (reserved access) which is worth a look. In the small museum, the planet room allows us to understand their respective dimensions, Mercury being the smallest, Jupiter the largest.
