The Ampans association's social project here began in 2006 with the restoration of the vines. Three years later, a shelter for mentally handicapped people was built: the Urpina residential home, offering opportunities for professional integration and social recognition. It is in the extension of the Urpina project that the Muntanyola cheese dairy was created, in a farm at the foot of the Montserrat massif. The visit will provide an opportunity to learn more about the cheese making process, from the care of the herd of cows, sheep and goats to the actual production and maturing process.
