TINES DEL MANXONS I CAMÍ DE LA SAL
Walking the salt road (used since the 10th century to transport salt between the Cardona mines in the north and Manresa in the south), parallel to the Cardener River on its west bank, you will find halfway a set of eight old grape and wine deposits covered with tiles and built of dry stone more than two hundred years ago: these are the Tines del Manxons. Their very good state of preservation allows us to appreciate the glory of Bages' wine-growing past, at a time when the region had the largest wine-growing area in Catalonia. The manufacturing technique as well as the materials chosen also illustrate the ingenious adaptation of the inhabitants of these particularly arid lands in summer
