Every year in May, uniformed fighters invade Major Square to stage the famous Battle of Avinyó. On November 16, 1848, the Carlist insurgents surprised Queen Isabella's troops, signing one of the few Carlist victories against the liberalist camp. Markets, tastings of local products, music and popular dances enliven the village.
