TORRE SOLDATS
General Captain of Catalonia during the Second Carlist War, Manuel Pavía had an ingenious network of military telegraph lines built to facilitate communication between villages from the interior and to control the movements of Carlist insurgents in the region. The soldiers' tower is one of the few remnants of this revolutionary optical telegraphy system in Catalonia. From Plaça Major, a signposted route through the undergrowth leads to the tower and offers an exceptional view of the surrounding area (2.5 km, easy). It is also possible to reach the tower by car via an unpaved road.
