The Romanesque church of Sant Cugat del Racó represents a unique ensemble dating back to Romanesque times in Catalonia. Built in the 11th century in accordance with Lombard tradition on the remains of a square pre-Romanesque temple, the structure rises around a floor in the shape of a Greek cross and its circular dome is considered an exceptional architectural element: this type of dome is indeed unique in Catalonia.
