Declared a popular festival of national interest, the Festa de les Enramades originated in the medieval period when the streets were decorated with carpets of flowers to celebrate Corpus Christi (Corpus Christi Day) on Thursday and the arrival of spring. This tradition has continued over the years and is now one of the most beautiful festivities in Sallent. On this occasion, each street chooses its theme and develops its own decorations, competing with inventiveness and flooding the public space with an unmistakable festival of colours.
