CASA MUSEU TORRES AMAT
This baroque residence with its sumptuous decoration was acquired by the Torres family in the 17th century. In the 19th century, a large residential and industrial complex was developed there, drawing its energy from the waters of the Llobregat River. The very first Spanish mechanical workshop would even have been set up in the adjacent textile factory. The various rooms of the house, entirely decorated, illustrate the way of life of one of the most powerful families in Sallent and the Catalan bourgeoisie, protagonist of the Industrial Revolution. One of the sons of this family of scholars, Bishop Fèlix Torres Amat, is the very first translator of the Bible into Spanish.
