CASTELLBELL MEANDER
It is one of the most beautiful meanders formed by the Llobregat River in the Geopark territory. Its geographical position, an ecological corridor between two natural parks, makes it a 27-hectare wetland with interesting biodiversity: the site is planted with trees adapted to wetlands such as willow, white poplar, tamarisk or flowering ash, which are not very common in Catalan territory. Many bird species nest in the area, such as kingfisher, grey heron, gebra or European bee-eater. Access: from the Burés district, a short walk along a path following the course of the Llobregat and the Burés canal (you will leave your car before taking it) leads to the site of the meander, at the northern entrance to Castellbell.
