TINES OF THE VALL DEL FLEQUER
From the second half of the 19th century onwards, wine-growing culture grew exponentially in the county of Bages and went so far as to colonise the mountainsides and the most remote natural sites. The remoteness of the villages and the difficulties in transporting the harvests will encourage the emergence of a remarkable dry-stone heritage consisting of groups of tines (presses) and barracks (huts) thanks to which the farmers produced the wine at the vines' feet. The sandstone rocks, with their flat surfaces and variable thicknesses, found throughout the region, are ideal for this type of construction.
A circular signposted path allows you to see this astonishing heritage: at kilometre 4.1 of the BV-1224 Carretera, linking Pont de Vilomara to Rocafort, an irregular rural path will lead you to about thirty tines in various states of conservation. Among the most remarkable (and closest) are Bleda I after 1.5 km, the first group consisting of 2 tines, 2 barracks and the remains of a press, and a few minutes away, Bleda II, a beautiful concentration of 4 circular tines and 4 barracks dated 1880. The Escudelleta group, which reveals itself after 2.2 km, remains the most important with its 11 tines and 7 barracks.
