EYES ON MAIN STREET
A must-attend event for photography lovers imagined by Jérome De Perlinghi, a Belgian photographer who worked for Libération for many years. Having lived in the United States for many years, he first lived in Chicago before moving to Wilson and creating this incredible festival that transforms the city's streets and venues into a renowned artistic event every year. In total, 100 international artists are exhibited there with a perfect parity between men and women. While the exhibition runs for several months from April to July, the artistic project lasts all year round with an on-site residency program where a different artist comes every month to take pictures of the streets and residents of Wilson. In the main gallery, the works from this residency program reveal moments of everyday life in Wilson's various communities. It was also an opportunity to raise awareness of art among the less educated and cultivated populations through portraits of locals who consider them as "their photos".
