THE TAVERN IN OLD SALEM
Adjacent to the Tavern Museum, the restaurant of the same name was once an extension of the hostel, providing beds for travellers before becoming a restaurant. The place has kept the charm of traditional taverns with its architecture and its typical decoration and to accentuate the historical side, the waiters welcome visitors in period clothing. On the cooking side, a simple menu mixing specialities from the South of the United States and German influence. The whole is original and very tasty. The gourmands will not be able to resist the excellent desserts. While the menu changes each season, the essentials remain on the menu, including the famous chicken pie and the popular cabbage sausages.
