This village, close to Thenmala, is located in a beautiful hilly region on the border of Tamil Nadu. It is home to the famous Ayyappa temple, a place of Hindu pilgrimage. The Bordilon teak plantation, Ariyankavu Bordilon, is the first protected forest in Thiruvithamcoor. The bridge connecting the Ghats by rail is spectacular. The site also has a natural sandalwood forest, the second largest after Marayur. Palaruvi Falls, 5 km from Aryankavu, owes its name to the resemblance of its water to milk.
