MARKETS

The markets (Dong Van and Meo Vac) are the meeting point of the 17 ethnic minorities who live in these places. They are one of the main attractions of the Dong Van plateau. They are held on Sunday morning, with a peak of activity between 8 and 10 am. The famous market of Khâu Vai (about 30 km southeast of Meo Vac) is held only once a year, on the 27th day of the^3rd lunar month. Young people from the ethnic groups of the plateau come to honor the legendary Lovers in the Ong and Ba temples, before courting each other through a game of alternating songs.
