CAPELA DO CALVÁRIO
This tiny chapel with its unusual construction has become the symbol of the commune.
This tiny chapel is a visual shock, so unusual is its construction: with its bell-shaped roof topped by a lantern, its white dome studded with sharp black stones, it looks like a chocolate chip meringue... Its birth certificate is the subject of controversy, and it is thought to date from the 17th century. It is also known as Maria Madalena or Igreja das Pedras, the Church of Stones. Probably the only one of its kind in the world, or at least in the country, this chapel has become the symbol of the town.
