The site of Monte da Chaminé is one of the poles of the municipal museum of Ferreira do Alentejo. It was discovered in 1981 and is located about 3 km from the city. This Roman agricultural villa was inhabited between the 1st and 6th centuries AD. Since the archaeological excavations began, an agricultural and a residential area can be clearly seen. An olive oil press, a basement and part of the main house have already been uncovered.
