It is one of the most interesting technical achievements in the Kašperské Hory region, and one of the most beautiful sites in the nature park. Built between 1799 and 1801 by J. Rosenauer, the almost 15 km long canal was used to transport driftwood to Prague. Hundreds of hectares of the Šumava forest were opened up for logging. This is a very pleasant and easy bike ride.
