Its ramparts and keep have been listed as a National Monument since 1946. Since the 1990s, its east-side entrance has featured on the labels of some Porta da Ravessa wine bottles. After passing through the main gate, walk along Rua do Castelo (Castle Street), home to several Gothic portals and the enoteca, an establishment dedicated to promoting the region's wines.
