HAVELLI HERITAGE
This Anglo-Indian style residence was built by the Thâkur of Ahore in 1918. It has since been renovated by the castle's grandson, Mahipal Singh, and now offers visitors 10 prestigious rooms with all the modern comforts. Guests will be able to spend a unique stay with an Indian family, savouring the regional specialities prepared by the master of the house and a barbecue recipe handed down from generation to generation. This resort for those who want to get off the beaten track and out of the hustle and bustle of big cities is an ideal starting point to explore the beautiful landscapes between Jodhpur and Udaipur, and 2 hours drive from the beautiful Jain temples of Ranakpur. It is particularly suitable for small groups of 8 to 10 people and for individual travellers. However, you must stay for a minimum of two nights to really appreciate the warm welcome of the young owner and his charming family. Photographers interested in the many facets of daily life in the Indian countryside, especially that of the Raika (a caste of semi-nomadic Hindu herders) are also welcome. Mahipal, a photographer himself, also offers workshops on the theme of portraits and scenes from village life.
Jeep rides in the morning and evening will allow you to discover the villages and wildlife of the area and to learn in complete safety about the cuisine of the Raika. Jeep excursions, barbecues, cooking and photography workshops, as well as walks in the village are charged extra.
