Enjoy oriental cuisine including grilled meats, bricks, tagines and delicious couscous in a restaurant in Mulhouse.
Located on the tranquil Place des Tonneliers, L'Hirondelle continues to go from strength to strength. While the restaurant prides itself on its traditional French cuisine, the main attraction is its oriental fare, Moroccan to be precise. You'll be able to enjoy grilled meats (on a plate or skewered), bricks, tajines and, of course, the couscous for which the restaurant is famous. "What makes a good couscous?" often asks the average consumer. The answer is that, at the very least, the vegetables have to be fresh, the semolina light and the meat high quality. L'Hirondelle meets all three criteria, and we'd add that the meatballs are really excellent and original, even if we'd like to have a little more than two. Couscous has the ability to fill your stomach thanks to the semolina. Certain vegetables are sometimes used too sparingly, the sauce giving pride of place to carrots and turnips, zucchinis are rare and we even found leeks, which is not serious but surprising. Some people even use Brussels sprouts! Although the dining room can't hold too many people, the terrace is ideal and it's very pleasant to sit down and eat oriental dishes, with really nice service, even if sometimes a little overwhelmed, as the restaurant is a victim of its own success.
