RESTAURANT LE MAYFLOWER
Restaurant with a magnificent bar where you can sit down for lunch in Mulhouse.
Historically, the Mayflower was the first ship of European settlers to land in North America. It is said that the ancestors of the Kennedys were on board. As you cross the Atlantic and head due east into France, you come upon the Mayflower restaurant. It's like entering a saloon. The impression is not feigned, as the long main room (a smaller one adjoins) is inspired by the Far West, with a magnificent bar where you can sit down to lunch. The dark-colored wood of the whole is pleasant. On the plate, the inspiration is always American, with a Tex-Mex tendency here and there. On the menu, the focus is on meat, from the double cheeseburger to beef ribs and pork ribs. Special mention goes to the cooking, which is very good. Side dishes include potatoes (fries, cheddar potatoes), salad or vegetables of your choice. If you like fish, we recommend theshrimp fritters. But beware of the heavy frying. For dessert, the pecan pie is a must. All in all, the Mayflower is a good address for a meal that's neither too heavy nor too gourmet. A must for family outings, it's a welcome change from fast food.
