THÉÂTRE DU LERCHENBERG
At over 130 years old, the Théâtre du Lerchenberg is a part of Mulhouse's heritage. In plays, sketches, songs, imitations and music, it's all in dialect: registered with the Office Municipal des Arts Populaires, the Théâtre du Lerchenberg offers contemporary plays translated and adapted into Alsatian, as well as an Alsatian dialect school and a theatrical workshop for youngsters on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, and a number of magazines, the most emblematic of which is Dr Hahne Tropft, a carnival revue that sums up Alsatian humor: satirical and full of derision (and here, today's society takes a beating), employment, youth, ecology, Alsatian specificities, new technologies, everything is mocked to share with everyone this Alsatian humor that takes the edge off, carried by a troupe of enthusiasts who continue to preserve and perpetuate the dialect with passion.
