Ranked fourth on the world contemporary art market, France is swarming with fairs and exhibitions devoted to art, to living and deceased artists and their timeless works. It is therefore not surprising to note that Mulhouse, neighbour/cousin of the Swiss city of Basel, a mecca for contemporary art, has also had its own art fair for several years, even though it is still a long way from Art Basel. Like a mirror, Mulhouse chooses to place itself under the sign of contemporary art at the end of autumn, a few weeks before Christmas. Every year the sales record is beaten!
