Founded in 1893, FCM enjoyed its heyday in the 1980s with two successive ascents to the highest level of French soccer. It will be remembered that the future coach of the French national team, Raymond Domenech, began his coaching career there. Taken over in September 2023 by entrepreneurs from Mulhouse, the club is now coached by Hakim Haibeche and plays in the Régional 1 league. It has a soccer school and women's teams.
