DISTRICT COURT
The court built between 1899 and 1902 by architects, was designed in this way to impress the litigant.
The building is said to have been designed in this way to impress the litigant: today, its appearance, halfway between Hansel and Gretel's house and Count Dracula's mansion, is more of a source of amusement. And if you were hoping to set your watch back on time with the clock in its central tower, forget it: it's been showing 1 p.m. for ages, because it was stopped to avoid disturbing the neighbors! A little history: the courthouse was built between 1899 and 1902 by architects Richard Kuder and Joseph Müller. With its stained glass windows, gargoyles, stone and wood sculptures, the building blends Gothic and German Renaissance styles with Jugendstil and Art Nouveau.
