Located south-west of Las Cruces, Old Mesilla is a picturesque old town ideal for a trip back in time, with chili peppers hanging in the windows, tempting stores, restaurants and stalls. The peaceful main square, with its church, offers a restful setting. A haven of peace that's a pleasure to visit, especially at weekends. Beware: the square is said to be full of ghosts of former miners who come to haunt the place at night. So be on your guard - you never know!
