At the very end of the road stands this beautiful Victorian-style residence, built in 1862. It was here that Antoine de Saint-Exupéry isolated himself to write a large part of The Little Prince in 1942. Settled here, enjoying the tranquility of this Long Island village, it only took him two months to complete The Little Prince. It is said that the office on which Saint-Exupéry worked is still in the residence which, unfortunately, belongs to private individuals and cannot be visited.
