IRONSTONE VINEYARDS
Winery and museum housing precious gold rush artifacts, the most important of which is the 44 lb. gold coin
Both a vineyard and a museum, the museum section lists precious objects from the gold rush. Its most important jewel is the 44 lb. gold coin, or nearly 20 kilograms, the largest coin since 1880. Beyond this treasure are a good number of antique objects, coin collections, extraordinary jewellery....
Visiting the museum is often the main reason for visiting this vineyard, but a tasting break should keep you a little longer. You can enjoy the fabulous gardens of the property to enjoy your glass of zinfandel, a typical California grape variety. The cellar dates from 1989 and the chandelier in the main room survived the 1906 earthquake. As for the fireplace, it is built of stone and 19 metres high. The Kautz family owns this estate, which belongs to the top 10 vineyards in California. Some concerts are organised throughout the year within the property.
