BABA MUSEUM
Amir Khaliq, nicknamed "Baba", had the idea in 2016 of creating a small museum on the ground floor of his house, which would collect ancient or simply traditional objects from his village. It took him two years to get his project off the ground. Two years to collect here and there disparate objects used for weaving shawls, agriculture, war, or cooking. One of the main pieces of its collection is a traditional loom, used until a few years ago to make the famous shawls of Islampur. Amir Khaliq knows a lot about shawls because he runs a small shop in which he sells pieces of his production. He will be happy to organize a visit to his museum, then to make a presentation of each of the stages, from spinning wool to folding, from making shawls. A little downside: Amir Khaliq doesn't speak English, so it's better to be accompanied by someone who speaks Urdu or Pashto.
