KALDI HOUSE
A little nugget not to be missed! Hosted by a Kenyan doctor whose family owns a coffee farm in the country, this Ethiopian restaurant offers delicious traditional dishes and excellent coffee that will be chosen from Nigeria, Ethiopia or Kenya. The incredible complexity of the many types of coffee (ristretto, doppio, marochino coffee...) is explained on the first page of the menu! This one offers traditional Ethiopian dishes (large "crepe" with meat and vegetables, Zigni, Bozena shiro wot, beef firfir...), as well as Nigerian breakfasts and dishes. The restaurant is located in a welcoming setting, with African art on the walls, Ethiopian basketry and wooden furniture covered with East African fabrics, all scented with the smell of roasted coffee. The latter is available for purchase ground or in granules, as well as the blown glass in the adjacent workshop: ask for a visit!
