ART CAFE
The spot of the city to put his computer down, where the All Lagos - local as well as expatriates - meets around a large coffee offer. A warm alchemy made of wood, zinc and bronze creates a cosy environment where you feel good and where you come back: many regulars come for the setting as well as for the owners. Minas and Patty, both French-speaking, have gradually expanded their establishment, which includes the café, its two outdoor terraces, the souvenir shop on the ground floor and the two art galleries in a row (so push the door!). Inside, the boss's life story is written on the walls: this compulsive collector has pinned his cigar boxes, the old cinematographs and transistors of his childhood, the press clippings accumulated over the years, the pallet boards of imported bottles and even the caps of empty bottles as the happy hours of Thursday and Saturday evening unfold. Pleasant and discreet music while good basics are available à la carte, some of which are French-inspired: niçoise salad, pancakes, croissant, but also club-sandwich, suyas and banana bread. Beer and cocktails for the happy-hour, and so make a stop at La Caveau ground floor: for a corkage fee of 4,000 nairas, you can taste a whole range of French wines from the region.
