TERRA KULTURE
A cultural centre including a performance hall, an art gallery, a souvenir shop and a very nice café, focused on the promotion of Nigerian culture and arts. Worth a visit! The varied programming of the theatre (African and international dance troupes, music hall, theatre...) is to be followed on their website. The latter celebrated its 10th anniversary in the summer of 2019, and can boast of being one of the only living theatres in the city. The centre is directed by Nigerian lawyer Bolanle Austen-Peters, director of the film Nollywood "Bling Lagosians"
Gallery. Above the café stands Terra Art Gallery, which offers very heterogeneous paintings arranged in a series of rooms in a row. The collection changes regularly and all the paintings on display are for sale. If you like an artist's style, other works are available in stock: ask. Each work, mainly paintings, is detailed by the name of the artist, the technique used and the price. Small pieces are also available, accessible to modest budgets.
Coffee. It is always pleasant to stay for a coffee at Terra Cultura, first of all for the original and welcoming place, nestled in the heart of a wide spiral staircase. But also for its menu of Nigerian specialities (suyas, pepper soup, plantains, croacker fish, seafood okro...) and continental dishes (chicken with peanut sauce, shrimps with garlic and ginger...). Also salads and desserts.
Souvenir shop. A small Nigerian handicraft store full of good ideas, with local beauty products, jewellery, a well-stocked bookstore, small decorative furniture, many finished bags or the Monopoly of Lagos and local coffee beans.
